Poor in spirit

Did you know that they (they=the Mint) are making coins with woman on them?

Me either!

But I learned that today when I was at lunch. Because the guy sitting at the bar loudly exclaimed, "CAN YOU BELIEVE THEY'RE PUTTING WOMEN ON COINS? WHAT ARE THEY THINKING?"

WHAT ARE THEY THINKING, INDEED, SIR.

Anyway, there's nothing like good chauvinism to get my rage going. Also, hi, sir? Have you heard of the Susan B. Anthony Dollar? Also, Mint, why do the ladies only get to be on the collector's item coins? Why not the actual circulating money? Hmph.

Interesting that it's just first ladies (if I read that right). As if presidents and their spouses are the only leaders of the country. That's the impression the Mint is giving at least.

i'm going to start a campaign to scratch out the "adams" from the "abigail adams" coin and replace it with "schilbo"

just so you know.

The Sacagawea dollar wasn't a collector's coin... =)

to answer your question as to why monies with women on them do not circulate-

women with money are worth keeping around.
