Heroine

I'm working on something and am having the hardest time naming my main character. I just feel like I'm putting her in a box by giving her a name. I feel like every name carries too much with it. That she'll be burdened by a name. I've already named all the other characters, too, which isn't helping matters.

How do you name your characters?

Usually they come pre-packaged with a name, in my mind.

Or they have no name.

I hear Emily's a good name for a heroine. On the other hand, don't some writers just give a letter for a name? Or like Sex and the City, just have Mr. Big? It's the new way to go. Actual names are so last century.

Well, if it was my story, the characters would have all sorts of names, always changing (remember the "horse of a different color" in the Emerald City of Oz?).

But you already knew that!

Makes you crazy, huh?

i have no imagination so all of my characters are me. and i came with a name.
